Jenna Agin is a Sophomore at Wake Forest University planning to major in Political Science. She has worked to curate an exhibit for the Timothy S. Y. Lam Museum of Anthropology at Wake Forest University on the Dalit community where she interviewed members of the community and aimed to highlight their voices in order to dignify them.

Shannon Cummings

Shannon Cummings is a Junior at Wake Forest University majoring in Anthropology. She has worked to curate an exhibit for the Timothy S. Y. Lam Museum of Anthropology at Wake Forest University on the Dalit community where she interviewed members of the community and aimed to highlight their voices in order to dignify them. She has also conducted research with various faculty members in the Anthropology department

Steve Folmar

Steve Folmar

Steve Folmar has served as a founding Board member of the ICDR since 2009 and also Served as a CFI Expert. He is currently Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Anthropology at Wake Forest University. Since 2001, he has committed his research to issues affecting Dalits. He has written several articles and done extensive research on Dalit Identity, Rights and Mental Health. He also conducts workshops in Nepal for Dalit Scholars.

Andrew Gurstelle

Andrew Gurstelle is a museum anthropologist and archaeologist. He is the Academic Director of the Timothy S. Y. Lam Museum of Anthropology at Wake Forest University where he conducts research on the museum’s objects and helps students learn to conduct anthropological research and curate exhibits as well.

Purvi Mehta

Purvi Mehta

Purvi Mehta is a Board Member of ICDR International as well as an Associate Professor at Colorado College in Asian Studies and History. Her research focuses on caste, gender, and human rights in India. She has also been studying Dalit activism and the internationalization of caste-based discrimination.

Raisur Rahman

Raisur Rahman

Raisur Rahman is an Associate Professor at Wake Forest University as well as the Interim Chair for the Department of History. He is a historian of South Asia focused on the social and cultural history of India and South Asian Muslims.

Rup Sunar

Rup Sunar, a Dalit rights activist in Nepal  is co-founder of the Dignity Initiative and currently serves on its executive board. Mr. Sunar has spent over a decade working to improve access to education and career opportunities for Dalit youth. Throughout his career, he has been actively engaged in utilizing UN human rights instruments to defend and advance the rights of Dalits in Nepal.
